Definition
A state of curiosity that leads to discovery, innovation, and meaningful connections. The act of approaching challenges with openness and deep enquiry, valuing human depth alongside technological evolution. The balance between uncertainty and possibility, where creative solutions and purposeful progress emerge. A mindset of conscious enquiry, continuous exploration and reflection, while embracing the unknown.
Etymology
Early 21st century. A modern reimagining of the Old English wundor (“a marvel, wonder, object of astonishment or admiration”), related to the Proto-Germanic wundran (source also of Old High German wuntar, German Wunder, Old Norse undr). The term wundr in its contemporary form emerged from the founding of Wundr Space, a consultancy focusing on the intersection of human depth and technological innovation.
Influenced by the teachings of Stephen Jenkinson and the Orphan Wisdom School, wundr represents not only an act of wonder but also a profound enquiry into human wisdom, grief, and the uncertain future. Rooted in the idea of navigating through times of turbulence with reflection and integrity, wundr emphasizes curiosity-driven discovery, the balance between speed and purpose, and the continual questioning of progress.
